Last October, Josh & Gord spent the day with Kate and Bryan for their gorgeous, sunny October wedding…and I LOVE these pics! On top of being a stunning bride…Kate is also a brilliant wedding planner (not by hobby, but by trade!) So, I thought it was best to get Kate’s story than try to tell it for her. Keep reading…
I have always been passionate about weddings. I love following trends and finding inspiration in unlikely places. I love the emotion, the sincerity, and how it’s the little details of a wedding that showcase a couple’s personality.
October 2009, not engaged, yet accumulating wedding magazines that could rival the best collections, I was no doubt feeling just a little bit ridiculous. But when my boyfriend (now husband) suggested that perhaps my love of weddings could lead me to a wedding-related career I started to do some digging. How do I wrap my adoration of all things wedding into a single job? The answer became clear: I had to become a wedding planner. One month, a certification process and a website later, The Little White Dress (TLWD) was born. Since then, TLWD has been my much-loved obsession for the last year and a half. Even with my own engagement in March 2010 and impending wedding that October, I managed to plan five other weddings in 2010 and loved every moment! Planning my own wedding was both surreal and bittersweet. There were so many ideas and options that I would have loved to incorporate, but one wedding meant I had to choose just one colour scheme, one set of invitations, one dress, one cake, and the list goes on. Thankfully I am a very decisive girl or I might still be debating on flowers and linens, but looking back at everything about the day, I wouldn’t have changed a single thing. The wedding was a perfect representation of Bryan and I, and we couldn’t have asked for better weather in October. The highlight of the day (other than the marrying the love of your life bit!) had to have been working with Josh. He was so amazing from morning to well into the evening, and when I look back at the photos now – I still have no idea how he managed to capture some! It’s like he becomes invisible and jumps right in front of your face without you ever knowing! We love you Josh.
Now – for any of you brides out there reading this, and thinking ‘omg she’s totally nuts…how could she possibly want to plan multiple weddings?’…check out my website and send me an email or drop me a line! The Little White Dress offers Full Wedding Planning Services, Day-Of Packages, and Pay-As-You-Go Consultations. TLWD operates out of the KW area, but services all of the GTA.
