Well, this blog post is so past due! Last June, our lovely couple Julia & Bruce (stay tuned for some epic wedding photos!), along with myself and Clint took a trip down to their favourite place (Vegas, baby!) for their engagement session. I could ramble on for days about how this all came to be – but suffice it to say, if you have a funny suggestion, it’s sometimes worth making it! This was such an awesome trip – we’d never been to Vegas before, and knowing Julia and Bruce’s wedding was “music themed” at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto later that year…I knew we had to do something a little special. Again, I could talk for hours about the strange string of events that led us to securing a vintage upright piano (which we discovered quickly, are incredibly heavy!), an ill-fated U-Haul (that’s a whole other story, too), and about an hours drive into the sunset to the Valley of Fire, just outside Las Vegas, Nevada.
This session was more like 2 e-sessions in one – we wanted to capture the bright lights and life of the strip, but without missing out on the hidden jems of Nevada (the amazing, sprawling, endless desert at sunset)…with their music theme tied in as well. So, without further ado…here’s Julia & Bruce’s e-story: Rags to Riches in Las Vegas. (Thank you SO SO very VERY much for this awesome (epic!) opportunity guys!) – Shawn & Clint
PS: Julia operates one of THE BEST gourmet, made-to-order cupcake and mini-cake businesses in Toronto: Sugar Mama. Highly recommended for any of your special events! I’ve had them, and have had to order them again because they’re literally that awesome.
