Kenneth Chou’s work is such a great example of the documentary style of photography we love around here. Kenneth has recently joined our team as a lead and second photographer, and we thought we’d introduce you! Here’s a quick bio on Kenneth, in his own words (but, we think his photos speak for themselves!)
“I believe photography is more than simply capturing a moment. My passion for photography came from the streets, carefully observing human behavior and anticipating a series of events that may or may not occur. I sought to examine life as a visual play that sought not only to capture a moment, but also infuse a sense of prelude and postscript. To me a telling photograph is one that captures the flux of life before, during, and after the moment.
Being a documentarian at heart, I believe the perfect wedding day should be captured as naturally as possible. Due to the nature of documentary, you will often find me working fast and unobtrusively when needed, while blending a sense of spontaneity and individuality to each and every portrait.
That is to say I am used to getting into the thick of things to deliver images that truly reflect that special day. When the going gets tough, I’ve also been known to catch falling arches and handle wildlife as well.”
Kenneth holds a Master of Fine Arts in Documentary Media from Ryerson University as well as Bachelor of Fine Arts in Photography, and will be covering weddings with Renaissance Studios Photography in the Toronto and GTA, as well as in other areas of Ontario.
